The Nation Core is a placeable block that acts as your nation’s heart. Standing near it inside
your own territory strengthens you, and during war it becomes a target enemies can siege and
destroy. Nation Cores must be enabled on your server.
This is separate from your capital chunk (/etnation setcapital) — you can have one, both,
or neither.
A Nation Core is forged at a Dragonforge station: 8 Hihiirokane Ingots, 8 Adamantite Ingots,
16 Magic Stone and 2 Earth Cores. See Forging for how the forge minigame
works.
Server admins can also grant one directly.
You need spending rights in your nation (the same rank that can touch the treasury) and you must
place it inside your own nation’s claimed territory. A nation can only have one Core at a
time.
If placement fails for any reason, the block is returned to you — placing never eats the item on
a failed attempt.
The nation’s Sovereign can pick the Core back up by sneaking and right-clicking it with both
hands empty. You cannot do this while your nation is in an active or warming-up war.
If your nation disbands, an orphaned Core crumbles and drops its item the next time anyone clicks
it.
While your Core is intact, any nation member standing inside your own territory, within 8
claimed chunks of the Core (default, server-configurable), gets:
The aura turns off automatically if your nation falls into treasury debt, and comes back the
moment you’re clear again.
During an active war (not the warm-up phase), a member of the opposing nation can attack the
Core directly — melee or ranged, same as attacking a player. Outside of an active war, or from
anyone not on the enemy side, the Core simply can’t be damaged (“The core is warded”).
A fallen Core is shattered, not destroyed — it stays in the world in a broken state. Its
nation loses war score and nation season-ladder points, and if the war ends with that nation
losing, the winner takes an extra cut of their treasury on top of normal war spoils.
Shattered and damaged Cores on both sides are automatically restored once the war is over,
whichever way it ends.
The Sovereign or an officer with spending rights can repair a damaged (not shattered) Core with a
right-click. It costs $1 in treasury money per missing HP (default, server-configurable) —
or nothing at all if your server isn’t running the nation economy.
Placing, removing and repairing are all done by interacting with the block directly — there’s no
command for everyday use. Server admins can check status, force a repair or grant a Core via
/etadmin nation core.
